The Harp has been a beloved emblem of Ireland for many centuries. Folklore say that the first Harp was owned by the Dagda, a chief among the Tuatha de Danann. History tells us that those who played it where highly trained professionals and used to play for the nobility. They were held in very high regard and usually asked to accompany a Bardic poet who was giving a reading. Sadly with there was a steep decline in the Harp Tradition with the emigration of leading Irish families.
